IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Longest written constitution.
  • It include 395 articles, 22 parts and 12 schedules in Indian constitution.
  • It has 251 pages and its weight is 3.75 kg.
  • Indian Constitution Day is celebrated on 26 November. Because on this day our constitution was made.
Feature of constitution

  • Both flexible and right : - some parts of it can be amendment by the parliament by simple majority other some parts require 2/3 majority the approval of not less than 1/2 of state legislatures.
Fundamental rights 
  • Right to quantity
  • Right to freedom of religion
  • Right to freedom
  • Cultural and Education rights 
  • Right against exploitation 
  • Right to constitution remedies (Heart and sole of Indian constitution) 
Secular state :- It means equal treatment of all religion by state.

single citizenship :- The people living in different part of countries are all country's citizens .
                                 there is no separate citizenship for state.

Executive :- Prime minister acts as the head of the government with the aid of council of minister.

Parliament divided three parts
  1. Lower house (house of people)
  2. Upper house (council of state)
  3. President  
Legislatures :- Parliament consisting of rajya sabha (Upper house) of state and loksabha (Lower house).

Judiciary:- It ensures that governance is carried out in accordance with the constitution and protects the                    freedom and fundamental rights of the constitution. and Judges of the High Courts                                  and Supreme Court are appointed by the President of India on the recommendation of a                          collegium.

  • Supreme court - 1 in Delhi from 1958 
  • High court - 24
  • District court - 2 court per district 
Types of Court 
  • Civil Court 
  • Crime Court 

Election of President :- The person head of  state to be  eligible for election to this position the person should be a citizen of India, have completed 35 years of age, should be qualified for election of the loksabha and should not hold any office of profit under any public authority.
